I agree with Sebastian Gaeta's comments. I really enjoyed the low key atmosphere. No pressure, just plain fun.
Hope there is another Third Coast event next year.

Re: Third Coast 356 Oktoberfest: Event Report & Photos
I emailed Bill Waite and encouraged him to keep it going, perhaps on a rotating basis each year. For example, the Ohio guys one year, Illinois, then Indiana and back to Michigan, etc or some such format.
The important thing would be to not try to "one-up" the previous year's event (just keep the basic formula going), that just defeats the purpose of a low key, laid back weekend with the people and our cars.
Holidays are wonderful big time events but these smaller gatherings are just plain fun!
Regards,

Re: Third Coast 356 Oktoberfest: Event Report & Photos
Don & Sebastian,
I am glad to report that we've been contacted by two different groups who are considering organizing similar events. one in southern Ohio (fall of 2014) and one in northern Illinois (fall of 2013). In our view, the "Third Coast" includes all the Great Lakes states... and it would be super if we could count on at least one or more "low key, low cost, high fun" events in our area. In fact, we'd encourage anyone thinking about this to use the "Third Coast" moniker: e.g the "Third Coast 356 Summer Drive" or the "Third Coast 356 Fall Fling" or whatever.
Ideally other "regions" (talking geographically) might consider trying to do the same thing. Although we had participants from "far and wide" I imagine the distance to Michigan for many was a deal breaker. So, I hope someone in the southeast plans an event, and someone in the northeast, etc, etc.
Any members considering it should contact us... we have a lot of information to share (based on the Georgia group's experience plus ours).
Regards,
Bill

I hope so, Vic. Everyone missed you and Barbara. It sounds like there may be two similar events next year... within reasonable driving distance of all of us here in the original "Motor State." Now.. if they can just get together and plan on different times of the year...
