2012 Monterey Motorsports Reunion

This past weekend I went to my very first weekend in Monterey, we made a family vacation out of it and went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium (very good) on Friday and then on Saturday I got a hall pass from my wife and spent all day watching the races while she watched the kids. As my interests lean towards Porsche I took the following pics and thought I'd share with the group here. In a word, it was AMAZING! I know this is an overused word, but it really fits here. The quality of cars was second to none and seeing some of them race around Laguna Seca was well... amazing. I definitely want to get back up there again next year.

Thanks for posting some great photos! Beautiful 1959 Outlaw got my attention. Quite the full-on production done to a high level. But, on the card it says he/they started with a Super90 '59A Coupe. Really? So now I guess I need to find that Super90 motor that must have come with my 1958 Normal 356A Coupe (or is that just on the '59s?). Because it came to me in 1976 with a Super90 tach, so that means...well, nothing really. Guess I'm just getting too old, 'cause I just don't remember those 1959 Super90 356A Coupes! Or maybe he/they just meant Super motor?

Who / what made those wheels out of "drillium"?!

Ne'mind, I get it. It's just the requisite spare, right? Not intended to be used, but still "functional"? Or it's purely for humor? Or both?

Valve stem is located between the slots in your originals Freddy. Not so on the others. Is that it?

These wheels are not real Rudges... but a latter reproduction.
The shape of the holes, the shape of the center, the ofset, the valve stem, no depression for the valve stem at the center and at the rim are good hints for that!
