West Coast holiday YouTube Slide Show

#1 Post by Lynn Sheeley »

I had hoped to post this earlier, but a 2 week bout of strep/flu slowed me down.

Lynn, thanks so much. I didn't have time to take pictures, so it is wonderful to see the event again. I'm sure most of you know that Porsche is opening a track and customer center in Carson, CA. (LA area). Paul Gregor from the "Mother Ship" tells me it will be opetrational in 2014. What a great venue for a West Coast Holiday.

Hi Jim,

I didn't know about that. Does "track" mean a racetrack? In Carson? Seems unlikely. I will do a web search and see what I can find out.

Thanks,

Oh my gosh you're right! There will be a real track. For an aerial view of it (artists rendering) see

Wow. It would be fun to drive my A coupe on that track. Or a modern Porsche.

Not sure about the idea of a WCH in Carson. Not a very "scenic" vacation destination ;-)

Absolutely in Carson, CA. Barry. The track will be for customers to test their new cars. It will be larger than the one in Atlanta according to Paul. I presume some race trained Porsche staff will run the track. Paul Gregor is with Porsche AG, and our Club Liason (sp). He is also a good friend of Tiffany and me.

He hinted at it, at the Holiday to me. And confirmed it with an e-mail yesterday.

The Holiday would need to be somewhere near. Paul has indicated that we could have events (Track) there through the Registry. You can rest assured that the 356 Club of Southern California will attempt to be the first there. I'm working on a '63 S-90 Coupe that would be a "Hoot" on the track. I'd love to run my '52 as well.

PCA is holding an Escape in the same area in late Oct, 2013.
Here is the website http://escape2013.pca.org/
I suggest piggybacking on the events, drives, hotels already selected.
Why reinvent the wheel, when you can modify whats already in place!

Richard, Porsche has not given us a date when this facility will be open. Late next year is my guess. You can see it from the 405 across from the Good Year blimp.
