Am glad to welcome 15006 among the survivors. Some mor pics would not be bad.

That's amazing Albert! Thank you. Were these US delivered cars? We have always thought that we had one of the earliest US produced models, but haven't gotten any info to confirm. I know the "oldest" is 15059(Oct 52- MY53) but I think we may be earlier than that... I believe it left the factory in June or July

I am currently working on transport from SoCal to the Northwest. As soon as I get the car in my possession I will be taking many photos!

I believe the oldest cab sold new in the usa is/was 10075. At least the very first with export bumpers. There are some 1951 pictures of the very very first Hoffman cars with a cab in it too. That was a body bumper car, may have been a 4 digit vin.

I would suggest you three, William Block, James Davis and Albert Haefner to summarize your data banks on a home page and make it accessible to anyone after signing up. Maybe in combination with 356 registry. Have a look at xkedata.com

I'm talking about this one. https://porsche356registry.org/cars/624 If this has been addressed before, I apologize for the redundancy. I'm fairly new to the historical timeline of these cars and am doing my best to get an understanding! There's so many variables and you all are an amazing wealth of knowledge. Thanks for taking the time to educate the new guy!

There is some great color footage at Watkins Glen, on 23 September 1950 with 2 356s imported by Max Hoffman at the parade lap. You can see a blue split window coupe and a red split window cab. These are the very first 356s on US soil

Cool video here:

Hi Jesse,
I know it's not your car and you didn't write the ad, but chassis no. 15059 is not a split-window car. The piece you see in the middle of the windshield is the chrome tension rod. This is actually a '53 model car manufactured in late '52 according to Eric Cherneff's database. One-piece "bent" windshields were installed starting with cab chassis no. 10271 - '52 built in '52. Interesting that the signal lights are inboard of the headlights. This must have been one of the last '52 nose panels. Beautiful car & must have sold as I don't find it in the classifieds now.

Well it took 5 months, but I found the old photos of Milt Cooper's '52 cabriolet 10333. I believe the photos are from around the late 60's.

Hi Albert,
A merry Christmas to you and all 356 members, I am very very new to the forum, I recently purchased a 1954 356 Cabriolet in the US, I have organised having it shipped to me here in Southampton UK. It left Oakland on the 5th December, this morning it departed from Savanna for Southampton ETA 6th January 15.00hrs. I can’t wait 😁
The vin number is 60653, do you have any previous information on this car.

Thank you in advance and g enjoy your Christmas
Paul
