Pre A survivors

Happy Christmas!
I've just read an article claiming that there are only about 300 Pre A survivors. Can that be correct?

Oh what a puzzle. The number of all 356's still with us is unknown, never mind Pre A's. That said, with about 10,000 Pre A's having been built, 10% would be 1000 and 300 would be 3%. My guess is that 300 is way too low.

I do not understand why nobody has created a publicly accessible database like the Jaguar guys did it: xkedata.com
We would have 356 data from the personal databases that first could be put online anonymously.

Hi Oliver,

I have a p rivate registry for préAs - 40 years of collecting préA informations.

Around 2.500 préAs I know about on this earth, dead or alive.

Bit more than 2.000 in my picture collection with VIN.

200 more without VIN.

There were nearly 9.400 préAs built, I think I'm missing info on around 300 cars
still sleeping somewhere.

Let us say, 2.800 survivors. Or 3.000, not more not less.

If somebody in the 356REG needs info on the one ore the other car, may be I will or can help.

Servus Albert,
ok. So you would say about 1/3 survived. Do you have 50014, 52943 and 51461 in your registry? I try to reconstruct these cars‘ history. It‘s off topic so please send me an email if you have got information or pictures. Thanks.

Albert, you can add to your database that 50405 is deceased. Likely died in south Texas in the 1970s.
