Ray Litz usually stamped the align-bore info there.

That configuration of measuring the oil temperature ended in December 55. I had a Jan 56 Speeder that had the same casting boss there at the back of the oil cooler stand, but the temp was to the left of the pull near the bottom, as it is on all T1 cases.
I have an NOS screw in guage as the one pictured if someone wants it. Pricey! V
