1950 - 1953 Rear Interior Structural Area

#1 Post by Brett Johnson »

I'm getting back to work on Authenticity IV and finishing up the chassis chapter revision. Here's what I have in the current Authenticity book.

Illustration 26 of the 1955 parts book (page ##) first showed the structural pieces that made up the majority of the rear interior chassis. These were the same for all pre-A models. Item number 19, which made up the flat area behind the rear seat or parcel shelf, was not present until the Model 52. Any changes made in this area between 1950 and 1952 were not officially documented.

Any additional detail needed?

Brett, The rear area was different for a cabriolet and coupe. I can send you photos of the rear area for a 1953 Cabriolet.

Yes, please do: 356drb@indy.net

The manuals show differing upper interior panels for all models in the rear interior and engine compartments. Just the lower chassis was the same -- except it wasn't for the three different types of bumper brackets.
