10166 early history?

Might anyone have any information on the provenance of 10166, a 1951-build Azure Blue over gray Reutter cabriolet sold new to a William Wagner of Munich. It was subsequently exported to the US and eventually sold by someone on the east coast to Mr. William Hoff of Illinois around 1989 after which it was restored. In 2017, Mr. Hoff sold the car to its current owner in Florida. I am trying to learn who owned this car when it was exported to the US, and who sold it to Mr. Hoff.

Please list as much "Kardex/Certificate of Authenticity" information as known so that your 356(s) may be registered in the now unofficial 356 registry. PreA, original owner/family, limited production, original, 4-cam, unusual, non-US and scrapped cars especially sought. Information provided will go to a public database. It is desirable that we have your name, phone number, and/or e-mail address so that a person with a similar car can contact you.
