solex 32 vs solex 40 linkage?

I have these 2 early throttle linkages but don't know the application for it. Is the straight one for solex 32 and the fatter one with the bends for early solex 40 carbs? Or is there an early pre A linkage vs late linkage?

Length is about the same.

The one on the left looks a lot like the one I have for my 52 motor

Thank you alfred. Your 52 looks to have even one more bend? Do you know what type of engine that is for?

Right one is for 32mm Solex, left one for 40mm Solex; or the early 32 on spacers.
32mm carbs on low manifolds, 40mm on taller manifolds.

There's a slight twist as Vic alludes to above. The thin one is for 32 PBI. Pre-A only (1950 to 1955).

The one with the thicker cross-section is for

40 PBIC (pre-A)
40 PICB (pre-A and A T1)
32 PBIC (A T1)

For the A T1 development, Porsche tried to make as many parts common between 1600 and 1600S, so they made manifolds that took the same ignition plug tin covers, and put the butterfly shafts of the 32 PBIC and 40 PICB carbs at the same height relative to the fan housing to use the same throttle linkage.

Thank you Vic and James. That still leaves the question about the difference between Alfreds thick link and mine, they are different.

Alfred's and yours look identical to me. Perhaps I'm not noticing something?

Alfred's has two straight ends, mine both have a 90 degree elbow
