Cigar Lighter
I use this for running satnav or phone charger and it worked at first but is now erratic . something appears to be lose on the body , so I guess I need to get it out from the dash and have a look. Any advice on how it is removed ?

A picture would be helpful. Most lighters unscrew from the back after removing the wire connections. Some have a bracket like the other gauges. Often the element becomes shorted out from either ash or rust.

It has a nut at the back. Pretty much just like the gauges.
This is the one of my '53. I suspect yours has a different knob.
