Is your car a coupe/cab or a Speedster?

The coupe/cab wiper gearbox in 1955 had the long arms just like the 356A version, but the ball was mounted on the opposite side to work with the boomerang-shaped wiper frame.

Earlier pre-A ones also had the ball mounted on the opposite side, but the arms were shorter for the opposite-motion wipers used late '52 through mid-'54.

I believe the Speedster one in '55 is the same as the 356A version - i.e. the wiper frame not shaped like a boomerang the motor mounted on the opposite side.

Stoddard and others sell the 356A version.

See photo below for a photo of the mid-1954 through 1955 one for bent-window cars.
