Best way to clean a magnesium transmission case?

i am rebuilding a split transmission and would like to clean the magnesium housing.
what would be the best way to clean it?
i am thinking about sodablasting. anyone have experience with this?

Ultrasonic cleaning - wet blasting - ultrasonic cleaning - chromating

Here is a 519 splitcase transmission that I did for Peter Dunkel's original 550 Spyder while back.

I offer this chem. treatment as a service for anyone who has a splitcase transmission or a
Porsche Pre-A 2pc. case/block.
