Charlie White 1953 Photos
On Charlie White's Der White website there are photos of #50038 coupe with 93 miles on the odometer. The original series has ten images. At one point I had all ten but over the years the three interior shots that were sent for reproduction in my column were not returned. I am currently in the process of cleaning up all of my Pre-A factory images for possible inclusion on the Literature Zentrale (elsewhere on this website) and I have also done the seven images I have of #50038 which are amazingly sharp and show interesting details.
I can't imagine that at some point Charlie did not share these 8x10" photos with others. So, if you have any or all of the three long interior shots -- one from the left side, two from the right (I have the door panel one), I would appreciate a high res. scan or if you prefer, either Jim Wayman or I can scan and return them. Thanks!

Re: Charlie White 1953 Photos
Hi-res scans would be most welcome. Sorry I can't help with originals, though I believe the originals are in the Detroit Public Library's "National Automotive History Collection"? Might be worth contacting them and asking. I will dig through my files, as I believe I might have info on the photographer or the person that owned these photos at Chrysler.

And btw, it was hi-res scans of the engine compartment showing the internal number that allowed me to figure out the chassis number and interesting history of this car - imported through AMAG in Switzerland and thus explaining the amber front turn signals and city/country horn switch.
Looking forward to the other hi-res scans of these photos.

The photos are dated 2-20-53 and on the back they are all stamped C. Aston Cox, 217 Arlington St., Wollaston, MA 02170 -- please note that zip codes did not exist in 1953...
Here is the AMAG Wagenkarte.

It does have a mph speedometer not noted on the Kardex/Wagenkarte. Those damn inaccurate Kardexes/Wagenkartes!!!!!

Brett - I don't know if this helps but I got from Charlie 72 low res ( some very low) photo files of 1953 #50038. Let me know and we can figure out how to get them to you. David

Re: Charlie White 1953 Photos
I did get a medium res. copy of the 9 images that the Detroit Public Library had which were identical to the Charlie White images. Of them three were ones I no longer had. I was able to clean these and James Davies enhanced them. James also sent along a similar 9 photo composite of a US spec. model 52 bearing Detroit Public Library markings and I was able to obtain a high res. scan of it from the library and James has just sent me the enhanced individual images and I will begin cleaning these today. They end up fairly nice and reveal details nicely due to the quality of the original photos. Chassis number of this car is unknown, but we may be able to narrow it down some.
David, it you have items of significant size, I prefer getting them by (free) WeTransfer.com. My preferred email address is: 356drb@gmail.com

Yes David, there was a winner there in fairly high res. Nothing else remarkable. Here's also an image of the '52 I cleaned up today. Any idea what the car to the left is? I think maybe a shoebox Ford but it looks so small.

That’s almost certainly a shoebox Ford between the shape of the molding, V8 badge. And grille bars behind the bumper guards.
