Hello, don't know if anyone has come across these cut outs I found in the rubber retaining channel on the rear tin from our '55. On close inspection they are so neat they look part of the manufacturing process. I can't remember seeing this before on other tin, but that could just be my poor brain and the fact that I haven't seen many examples and certainly not for a very long time.

Vincent
I am most certain the reason that cut out is there is because the C channel is a shared part with early VW Split window beetles.
Since this C channel was welded to the car on a beetle. The cut out was necessary to clear the throttle cable tube.
