Hello all, going slightly off my trolley here! My pictures of the seat rails are obviously filed under 'never to be found again' but my notes and a fuzzy memory says that the seat rail slide springs are fixed with the off set hole to the inside of the car so the greater part of the spring is under the hook of the slide, is this correct? Also does the double spring slide sit on the seat rail support bracket with the single spring slide attached to the centre tunnel? Hopefully the picture attached helps my explanation, with the springs in the middle of the 2 rails in the orientation as I have placed them.

This is how they were in 1953.

The seat rails on my '55 Speedy, and on my '60, and the replacements I've seen available, all have the springs mounted upside down to Jim's pictures. The springs are meant to keep the seats from rattling around. The problem is there is too much spring pressure for the seats to slide easily. A hammer and punch, or maybe just big pliers, can flatten the springs hump a bit and make seat adjustment much easier.

Jim, photos are deceiving, at least to old eyes. I now think your pics show the humps up, like mine. Or not?
