Pre a wiper motor
I have two wiper motors the bosch one is the correct one for my '52 but the SWF has the same mounting but has a bowden cable. Anyone have any thoughts on what it could have come off of?

Tony,
Dr. Johnson's book (pp 56 in revised edition) explains:
Coupes 5001-11778 and Cabs 5015-15072 used the Bosch motor with linkage like early VWs. Your Bosch motor came out of 11341, so that fits.
Coupes 11779-52029 and Cabs 15073-60549 used SWF 53 wiper system with Bowden cable switch.
Coupes 52630-On and Cabs 60550-On used the SWF 54 system. The 55 parts book describes the 54 system wiper motor as "356.61.440, Wiper motor complete with Bowden wire." I think this must be the SWF motor in your picture since the cover on the SWF 53 motor looks much different. Maybe Daryl Bertram has the wiper assembly out of his '54 and could post a photo. This is my '53 assembly.

Re: Pre a wiper motor
Spencer,
Thanks for the input. I bought the SWF as a curiosity because it looks so close to the Bosch but with a Bowden cable. I was hoping someone might have a idea on what kind of car is used on..
Hope your car is moving along...

My #11994 has the Bosch switch, most definitely not a Bowden cable.
