Gearbox case finish

Hi,
Does anyone know if a 51 split case crash box would have been finished in the gold ish coloured Alodine finish like the later pre A gearboxes?

Also it's not an alodine but a chromating

Yes, and very hard to find these days as chrome 6 has been outlawed in most of not all eu countries
