I have been reading with interest about the use of led's as replacement for our lights, good idea.
I would like to offer our solution to provide safer lighting. Our company has been building and selling a third brake light specifically designed for our 356's. We have sold over 900 units world wide over the past 21 years. Our solution places a new light as with all new cars up taller for better visibility. $125, 6 or 12 volt, coupe or behind the grill. No, the product is no longer being manufactured or sold. I understand the company is for sale, according to an e-mail reply from Sally.
Sierra Madre has an LED unit in their catalog, I think. Brake Lighter from J & L Interprises, Inc is a 6V LED light in production. Tom

I spoke to Sally and they have stopped production.

They do pop up for sale on the registry every so often, i picked up a 12 volt recently and I saw a 6 volt also recently for sale.

Maybe a wanted add would help.

The other lights mentioned are much larger.
