We've expanded our inventory and service to the 356 community, now have Solex and Zenith kit parts available. You can now purchase individual parts that are included in rebuild kits. All the various gaskets, pumps, diaphragms, needle valves, O-rings, fiber/aluminum/copper washers.
Some used carb parts too, inquire on availability. Floats for the Solex 40 P II's are in short supply and none presently for sale.
We do have new floats for the Solex 32 PBJ and 32 PBIC's
NOS Zenith top screws (great for concours look)
New shafts for Solexes and Zenith
Complete rebuild kits for Zenith and Solex and more
New Solex jets are in stock-Mains, Main Air Correction, Idles, and Idle Air Correction jets. Have a wide variety of sizes for altitude to racing applications.
We use pin gages (0.01mm) to check jets, about 90% of the Solexes that pass through the shop have jets that are oversize what's stamped on the jet. Many have a mix of sizes and an engine will never have a smooth idle running those old jets, new jets are the way to go for even fuel and air distribution.
We have a Solex 40 P II jet pack available, all new jets mentioned above for solid and split (conversion) applications.
Our contact info is in the Registry magazine, if you'd like more information on parts, restorations and services available. We can make your car run better!
Best to you all,
Jim Kaufmann

Re: 356 Carburetor Rescue-Carb parts store-New Kits, Parts,
Hi,
Found this old post about jetting size, there is no other option than the factory option to be sure that the jet are the exact same size than the Microsolex system :
I've checked several jet saturday morning, only old model have the correct size displayed on them.
I've never found a new jet with the correct size, all 125 new are 115 real !!!
But if you just brake the edge a little, the size change (the flow change !!), leaving the size hole the same !!!!!!
No one using this kind of material in US ??

Salut Frederick
check out this article http://www.sparkingplugs.com/resources/ ... etting.pdf this is probably a better method of calibrating main jets and the Solex air flow(Olivier's) is very sensitive to turbulence on the edge like you found out and is better suited to air correction jets. either method is much better than trusting the markings on the jets but you should also have a set of calibrated jets to compare with.

Re: 356 Carburetor Rescue-Carb parts store-New Kits, Parts,
Since I was a learning kid, I was shown to run a Weber-calibrated bit thru every jet that passed by my bench. More weird hole shapes and mislabeling than you could ever imagine happens to jets. Run the bit up and down until it's free with a repeatable feel. Use appropriate larger bit on the entry bevel to promote venturi-effect. No matter what the preciseness, all your jets should now flow very equal, which makes tuning much easier!

Re: 356 Carburetor Rescue-Carb parts store-New Kits, Parts,
Hi Jacques,
hope you're well
The fact for me is not to have the correct absolute size, but if you compare all jets together and compare them with the calibration model from Solex, that's enough I think
and that's what i've done.
And my 125 jets were not 125, but were 115 as per the calibration from Solex !
So I made them 122,5 for 4, and 127,5 for 4 others to test the best combination
take care
