I want to send a PM, but can't find a FAQ about them. What's the trick?

Jay - you will usually see an "email" button in the lower left corner of a post. When you click the button, you get a text box and can send a system message to the member. I say usually, because a member can opt out of displaying the email box through the preference selections, but most people do display it.
Other facts are:
The email button uses the email address that was given to the 356 Registry by the member, so it is dependent on the member monitoring that particular email address on his or her end.
Sometimes the system message goes into the members spam folder and it might not be seen.
The system message is a 'do not reply' message but some people will inadvertently hit reply anyway and their message will not transmit - they should get a computer generated warning that their email did not go, but not always seen or acted on.
Your email address will be displayed in the system message to the member, and it can be clicked and then you are messaging directly back and forth with the member
