Adding more buttons at the bottom of your post

#1 Post by Trevor Gates » Sun Nov 02, 2014 2:52 pm

We currently have set up by default a profile button and (as I understand it) we can add the option for an email button. How hard would it be to add additional buttons? I'm thinking of a classifieds button, so we can see all the cars/parts one person has for sale on The Registry.
Engine # P66909... are you out there :-)

Unlike Jim's post Mike's and Greg's DO show an email button. It's user's choice whether or not to display it. Probably in the User Control Panel.

I just looked at my Profile and my email address is there. Can someone please tell me how to get the button on my posts. I saw nothing obvious on the Profile page. I sure don't want anyone to think I'm hiding.

Click on USER CONTROL PANEL in the upper right of the screen where you are seeing this message

You'll be taken to a screen where on the far left hand side in the "margin" there is a choice of BOARD PREFERENCES - click there.

You will see a display with a bunch of "radio" button choices in the middle right of the screen. The top line lets you pick yes or no for other users seeing your email. Click yes and you'll have an email button at the bottom of your posts just like the other kids

NOW, that you have learned to do that, Mr. Trustee, you might notice that there are also options for private messaging in the same display where you changed your email setting. PM is a feature built into phpbb software (the program that runs our board). That feature was disabled here for inexplicable reasons, but, is desirable to many of us who would like it to be available. It currently is not. Please bring it back.

OK, Mr. Trustee followed your superior instructions. Let's see if I did it right. I was "Famous with our IT department, they called me "Mr. User Error" and had to put on extra help when I traveled with my lap top. This is the product of great secretaries over the years.
