Login Route Problem with Microsoft Internet Explorer

#1 Post by Jim Alton » Thu Nov 28, 2013 4:54 pm

I have a somewhat convoluted login problem. I can't seem to login directly at the forum (is it possible it has different passwords?), but I can login on the main 356 Registry page. I've always started at the main page then gone to the forum.

Recently, the forum didn't work, I thought it was a temporary problem with the forum. Today I went to the 356 Registry main page, didn't notice that it didn't remember me, and went to the forum. I tried to reply to a thread and found I wasn't logged in. So, I went back to the main page and logged in. When I tried to get back to forum, after a delay, the browser came up with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage."

I tried the bookmark for the forum. That got me to the forum, but I wasn't logged in. I tried the e-mail and password combination that logs me into the main page but got "You have specified an incorrect username. Please check your username and try again. If you continue to have problems please contact the Board Administrator"

All that happened when I used Microsoft Internet Explorer. I tried the same in Apple Safari (login on the main page then go to the forum from the pulldown) and everything worked fine--in Apple Safari. That's how I'm able to make this post about the problem.

Is there any cure for this aside from using my secondary browser from now on?

I just tried IE9 again--it worked. I'm typing this in Apple Safari.

This time, I'm using IE9. Don't know what the problem was. IE9 didn't work a few minutes ago...

Jim, are you on the NSA hit list? Maybe they took control of your computer and were downloading all the data off your computer :D
This is sent to the forum on IE9.

I too was having problems logging in at the web site. It was not recognizing my password so I had a new one sent. I was able to log in with that and then changed my password back. A little frustrating but it seems to be working now.

I can't imagine that NSA would hold a grudge.

It does seem that passwords and accounts are--or can be--different on the forum and the main website. The problem I was having just went away...
