Is the fact that nobdy, including me, can't post links that work also related to the current virus software upgrades?

Is this a permanent issue ? Both inserting links and images seems to have undergone significant change in the last month or so...

Live links continue to be an issue. Images should not be an issue.

Joe,
I just got word that the links on the Pre Mat web site to the articles I authored do not work ( http://www.precisionmatters.biz/tips.php )
Any fix?
Thanks,
Ron LaDow

Not at this time, users will have to copy and paste the link info into their browser.

Joe,
There are costs involved in that change; any idea when the registry site will be fixed?

Apparently active links are a "wormhole" through which evil dooers can crawl?
So this "cut and paste" deal instead of highlighted active click through links is a permanent feature?
(Not complaining,...I appreciate the work done by the web folks here for the good of the site,...just wondering)

Ron, the site is not broken. "Live" links have been turned off. This is just as Steve has explained, and we continue with safety audits to insure that the Registry site is as safe as we can make it. It's a changing environment and the bad guys are always trying something new.

Ron,

I looked at your links and it looks like the files may have moved around on the Registry site. I think your links on the Precision Matters site may need to be repointed to the new location on the Registry site. I was able to find your articles with a search.

When will the links issue be fixed? I am not seeing this as an issue on many other forums in which I participate--why is it a problem here? It is really annoying to not be able to click on a link and have it work.

Annoying yes, but the cut and paste work-around is workable.
Remember - the site is being run with volunteer labor.
Thanks for keeping it up and going!

Greg

Does your answer mean it won't be fixed? Or is it on the list for fixes?

I don't know the answer as I don't actually work on the system side. I think that if a suitible solution can be found it will be implemented - no idea when though as there are many things going on to keep the site functional and a list of enhancements as well. I'll quiz the webmaster
