Can't upload a PDF?

Have an article from the NYT about Chuckie Schumer's proposal of a 10% ANNUAL tax on collector cars.

John, only image files can be uploaded along with a post: JPEG, GIF, PNG, etc.

PDF files cannot be uploaded. And there is no 356Talk software setting that can be changed to allow them to be uploaded.

NOTE: uploading copyrighted files, such as the NYT article you mentioned, would not be allowed under copyright law unless you have permission from the copyright holder.

I suggest that you provide a URL link to the NYT article. Though unless the person clicking the link is a registered NYT website subscriber they may not be able to read the entire article.

I searched nyt.com but could not find the article you referenced in your post.

Best regards,

Oh, well. Further reading seems to suggest I've been the fool of an April Fools joke. But, sad commentary that it has some credibility, at least to me.

John, here is the real NYT story on the April Fool's joke "car tax" story that was NOT a real NYT article:
http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/04 ... buffs/?hpw

Quote: "The article, as outlandish as it seemed, had struck a chord. “Car guys assume that everyone is trying to take their cars away,” Mr. Martin said."

and...

Quote: “Senator Schumer firmly believes in every American’s right to have tax-free fun, fun, fun, until their daddy takes the T-Bird away,” said Mike Morey, a spokesman for the senator."

Barry:

I was (am?) so dumb that when someone who should have known better sent the April Fool story to his entire address book including me that I called the Senator's office, which was, to say the least, perplexed and had not heard of it - at least up to that point. The people who transmit (and worse believe) this stuff live amongst us. Scary. You'll have to pry my woodie from my cold, dead, hand.
