I fabbed the gas cap when I owned the car twenty years ago.

Just finished the "threw hood" install.

Love the gas cap handle, but not for a GT but for arthritic hands. The caps are so large, tight fitting it takes both hands some days to get them off and on again. Now I'm thinking of a way to modify mine, maybe a piece of angle iron bolted to the cap?

Really looking forward to seeing more progress photos of this build!! The Coddingtons look like an amazing wheel. Are these 16"? What tire are you using?

Yes, the wheels are 16". I am running Pilot Sport A/S3's. 195/55.

Engine rebuild is complete. This started as a type 4 block, bored to 2.6L. It came with the car when I repurchased the project. I had the team at Carolina Coach Crafters go through it. It is a good thing I did because there were some bad cam shaft bearings. I hate to guess what would have happened had I spent all this time/money/effort on this project and the engine would have grenaded. Anyway... it looks awesome now. I am thinking a gun-metal gray metallic for the exterior and a hunter green leather for the interior. This motor should be awesome.

I am hoping someone can help me. In 2001, when I started what was then a GT clone project, around that time, I purchased the hard GT steel lines/fittings to install a front oil cooler. I don't have the original receipts, so I don't know if I bought it from Spyder Sports or GT Werks, etc. I am to the point that I want to start installing the lines. Attached is a pix of the fittings/a bag of line clamps and one of the 15mm ID steel lines.

1) I assume that I have to flair the tube ends in order for them to seat in the fittings. I have a metric and USA flair tool bar. Neither bar seems to have a size that holds the tubing snuggly enough to flare the end. Does anyone know a) Do I need to fare the ends?, and b) assuming I do, how do you flare a 15mm ID steel tube?

2) If I were to decide to get conical alloy washers to help get at tight seal, what size would I need? 12N? 16N?

I am so grateful for this community. I don't know what I would have done had I tried to tackle this job without guidance (probably screwed it up I would guess).

I wanted to thank Bill Sargent. I found a thread he posted 11 yrs ago on this topic. I emailed him and he called me right back. He steered me toward the company that has the patent on these fittings. If anyone wants to go down this daunting road, the link is below. As it turns out, the original fittings were not flared. Thank you again Bill.

This weekend I fab'd the bracket and tunnel pieces for my oil cooler. I have some finishing work to do, but it fits and is functional.

Trying to get all the holes drilled before final body work and paint. I'm using plastic windows and will likely do some drivers ed track days, so am installing NASCAR type window tabs to make sure the windows don't pop out is the car flexes at speed.

Few more holes to drill to accommodate stone guards.

One of the best parts about doing a project is coming home and finding brown boxes on your porch. It's like having your birth … a lot The plexiglass windows arrived.

Welded in anchor for the lap belts.

Are those belts anchored to the tunnel? I don't think it is particularly strong. Did you reinforce it somehow? The car is looking good by the way!
