Thanks for info. Do you recall the Compression Ratio?
I have to say that is quite an engine! You must have done a bit of work to fit that stroke. I am just starting a Type 4 build and am looking at 78 x 100 or 102, webcam 163/86b (very similar to your Raby cam). I will use carbs as I prefer old school. . I understand the cam likes high CR due to the overlap, hence the question.
In keeping with the 356 Forum, my type 4 build for the 912 will enable the twin plug 1883 616/36 to be shifted into the 356A Outlaw now being reassembled (by me, in the garage)

Mark: I set the compression ratio @ 9.2 to 1. There really wasn't much clearancing required with the Carillo style rods no interference with the cam, and the pistons have very short skirts so most interference was the pistons @ bdc. Keep us informed on that A Outlaw your building. It sounds like your building a couple of fun cars. Mike

Everything is looking great. With vented Brembos up front and 944 vented in the rear you'll be able to stop that big motor.

I won't hijack your thread. I'll just mention that I've got a couple of new gauges including a custom VDO oil pressure gauge in the clock hole (remade from an old VDO gauge) and late yesterday I got my rebuilt and recovered seats back and installed them last evening. They look good and will work fine until I find something more sport oriented to put in.

How will you know when its time to stop for a beer? Excellent use of the clock hole, most of them don't work I know mine didn't so I set it @ 3:56 for good luck! Looking good Rich.

Paint & engine look great. Is the paint single stage or base/clear and who supplied the 2.7 Type IV engine? Painting my outlaw now and considering engine upgrade on my 57.

Jay: The car was painted with PPG base coat / clear coat. The bodyman/ painter said it's easier to blend for touchup. The engine parts came from various suppliers. Heads & cam from Raby's, crank, rods, piston & cylinders came from FAT. Fuel injection TWM throttle bodies and Haltec fuel & engine management. I did the machine work on the cases and assembly. Mike

Some final touches on the interior handles to match the outside. Rear seat delete to hide the fuel injection wiring and brain still needs carpeted. Moving back to engine bay is next then its time to build the engine.

Michael - are the Brembo calipers fitted to the C spindle upright in place of the stock caliper? What is the application for the Brembo caliper?
The reason I'm asking is that I bought a 67 911S vented brake set up for my 912 project and I'd like put an alloy caliper on the front.

Greg: The calipers are off a Alfa Romeo Milano 1986~1988. They also used them on the GTV6. Direct bolt on to the "C" spindle, and early 911/912 struts. I bought the from an Alfa dismantler in Lodi, Ca (APE Alfa Parts Exchange) quite reasonable. You may need a thin spacer depending on which wheels your running. Seal kits are interchange with the A front calipers and use the same inner seals between the spacers and caliper bodies as the ATE calipers. Mike

Its a Sharpbuilt fan shroud out of Australia, and yes it uses a 911 fan. Mike
