I have an original Euro muffler modified by the late Ted Dunham as a sport muffler with two large pipes It's in good shape -- left over from my converting back to a ROW system and selling the Euro system with the standard muffler. Not very loud; have no idea if it made more horse power, but is attractive. Contact if interested.

Dansk's sport muffler is probably the most common choice. Unfortunately, quality and fit are inconsistent. Once you get it to fit correctly, they seem to be fine and aren't too loud. I have a Vintage Speed Sebring exhaust. The quality is very good, although it's a little on the loud side which I like, but you may not. Stoddard also recently started making a stainless sport exhaust which is reasonably priced. I have no experience with them, but perhaps someone who actually has one on their 356 can chime in.

I like loud, not ready for Formula E!! Probably 30-35 years ago, John Wilberg showed me how to cut into a stock muffler and "relieve" some of the baffles. Gave a very nice deep sound. I ran those mufflers in my 912 and 356 for years.

The small-pipe Abarth also gave a great, deep sound. Pulled up in front of a friend's house once and his wife thought it was a big-engine delivery truck. If John Wilhoit's dyno results hadn't revealed that the Abarth kills performance on an big (1883cc) engine, I'd still be running it. I could do surgery on it, but several years ago, I had the dents pulled out, the pipes chromed and the body jet coated and just seems wrong to cut and re-weld. Will save the Abarth for the numbers matching engine.

Currently running a Constas Sebring exhaust with the cool looking removable cookie cutter snuffer. I prefer the rounded corners of the "muffler-ettes" to the squared off shape of some of the other offerings. Sounds so good and the build quality is excellent. I have run the snuffler only about 5% of the time because it sounds so good with it out.
