#1 Post by Rio Caraeff »

Hi, does anyone know where I can source this type of racing style lap belts for my 356A? Pic of Rod Emory's interior below. Thank you in advance! Rio

Rio,
I would imagine if you dropped Rod an email explaining what you are looking for he would point you in the right direction.

Here is an alternative, from a company in the UK called corbeau.
I got these made with backing pad material to match the interior.
Not what your looking for however you never know.

Thanks, good idea! I did some googling but could not quite find the right ones and I should have just emailed him from the beginning but somehow didn't think of that.

I got mine from Jegs Racing Supply, on-line for $98 each. http://www.jegs.com/i/Deist-Safety/303/ ... Id=3003752

Deist Safety has a great listing of their seat belts/harnesses. You do have to pay attention to the mounting and lengths that you need, depends upon models and seat type of 356.

Hooker Harness will custom make those aircraft style belts for you reasonably. Summit Racing has off-the-shelf stuff.

And Eric failed to mention he also had the production date of his car put on the porsche label and had the factory sew it on his belts. Very personal and cool.

Hello Rio,
I got my belts from Jim B. at EASY. I did a write-up on their installation awhile ago. Here's the link.

Maybe you'll find some interesting tidbit in there that helps you with your install.

Good luck.

Depends on whether you are looking for a specific brand, I'd guess. These folks have a pretty good variety:

Eric,
I love your lap belt with extra padding and Porsche label. How does one go about duplicating it?

These guys do the Porsche label and date of car custom for you. Looks like Deist type belts http://vintageseatbelts.com/products/vi ... p-lap-belt

They also have stock looking belts. http://vintageseatbelts.com/products/vi ... -lap-belts

Conrad,

I do apologise for not getting back to you on this, I just came across your question.

I shall dig out the details of the person I got them off and get back to you.

Pretty easy: Go to an Army surplus store and go to the B-24 Liberator section. If not there, go to the B-17 Fortress section. Road tested at 303 mph.
