Availibility of 16" Tires
I just purchased a nice set of 6 x 16 Fuchs wheels. Researching available tires:
Verdestein Sprint Classic Narrow, 185HR16...$400
Michelin X 185R16..$295+tubelike
Firestone Cavallino 185HR16..$281+tube
Toyo Proxes A27 P185/60R16..$100.91
Are there other tires to choice from?

Re: Availibility of 16" Tires
The plain 185 tire is more than 2 inches taller than a 165/15, while the 185/60 is approximately the right height/diameter. What year is your car? Maybe somebody can tell you if these will clear the rear quarter panels.

Got to add Pirelli P7 to list. 195/45R16 and 205/50R16 per Graham.

Re: Availibility of 16" Tires
Who else is running 205/50R16's on rear of their 356B? Seems very wide to me since it is about an inch wider section than is on the car at this time...185/70HR15 Vedestrian Sprint Classic.

Re: Availibility of 16" Tires
On a 911, that rim runs a 205/55-16 tire. That will give you something close to the rolling diameter of a 165-15 tire, but I don't see how that would possibly work on a 356. If you somehow get it to fit in there, I wonder whether the suspension is up to the heavier loads. But I'm a 356 newbie, with a lot to learn.

Re: Availibility of 16" Tires
I am currently running 205/50/16 tires on 6X16 Fuchs wheels on my A coupe. I have a one 1/4" spacer on the rear and two 1/4" spacers on the front, per side. There in no fender rub at all, but the rears are very close. The rear camber is -3* the front camber is-1 1/2*
I am probably going to replace these tires with Potenza RE71R in 195/55/16. They would be slightly taller, and not quite as wide.

The car was extensively vintage raced in the late 80's and early 90's. It is currently street driven.

I really like the look of the RE71R's!. How critical is the neg 3 deg in the rear to handling and tire fitnent?

Re: Availibility of 16" Tires
Just bought Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 205/55 16's for my 16 x 6 Fuchs. Will put them on as soon as I install C disc brakes. Hope they fit.
