Question , Adam are wire wheels for 356's rare. I was looking through Bonhams auction catalog for the Simon Museum they had several Porsche wheels listed, one was a wire wheel.

Maybe some of the older guys can chime in here, but I think it was a pretty rare thing to see a 356 with wires, you normally see them on MG's and Ferrari's

Mark....Yes , most thought they were not the correct look for the Porsche, as mentioned they were considered suited for the British cars. In my 50 years I've maybe seen one car so equipped.
Having said that I like them even more today due to their rarity, it's nice to see something unique.

Thanks Max! I like them too. I guess I should have bid on them, but unsure that they where for real.

"A 356 A with Glockler wire wheels was seen at the concous competition in Bad Homburg. German regulations are very strict on what can and can't be fitted to vehicles, so Glockler must have had a series of products approved by the TUV."
photo page 70 Porsche 356 Long
bottom of page also says each and every 356 A engine is thoroughly tested for 3 hours ect.ect and a BOOK WAS KEPT in the engine test-house in which each test are entered.
I say that is Quality!!!

16s look good. I used 205/55-16 tires to get to stock diameter. GPS says speedo is spot on.

Ned,
I'm a big fan of Coddington wheels also. Boyd is deceased, but his son Chris a great guy and does a marvelous job on wheels. Attached is a pic of his wheels on my 64 C. Web site is alloyreplicas.com
Cheers,
Rob

These deep dish Fuchs have been in place many years along with the disc brakes all around and I never get tired of the look.
Down the road I will get a set of "C" wheels just for a change of look.
All the best,
Steve

Genuine Rudge wheels but with 5 1/2" rims, German TUV approved center nuts without ears.

Cosmic Wheels date stamped 1971. They originally were silver with black accents. Can't wait for the comments!
