No pictures to post yet... but I will be running the lightweight 944 turbo space saver wheels. These wheels have two valves per (one acts as a popoff valve, to limit pressure)-does anyone happen to know what this pressure point is? I'd like to know if its going to be lower than what I want before I have tires installed.
thanks for any insight, Elliot
Elliot, I have a set of the 944 space saver wheels. the popoff valves on my wheels were welded shut and ground smooth and polished. they look pretty clean.
IMHO

I don't thingk there s a spec for the pressure point. You can go to any motorcycle shop and buy shrader valves for motorsycle wheels that will fit the holes in the spacesaver wheels perfectly. You will then have two valves. I don't recommend leaving the popoff valves in the wheels but they probably wouldn't cause any harm. It only costs a few dollars to replace them, though.

These wheels are a work of art, precision made with a jewel like quality. They are much lighter than the original Rudge wheels , much stronger as well , not to mention more affordable. If you like the look of the Rudge wheel these are a good choice. I know I sound like a salesman but these wheels are just drop dead gorgeous.
So does no one have an idea what these wheels cost? Not even an estimated cost? Nice wheels, but pricing would be a big help to avoid wasting time. Yea, we can call the west coast, but being too lazy or afraid to call, it would be nice to have it posted here by someone. Thanks

I called Chris a few weeks ago, he called right back same day. Price is $4200 for a set of 4. He also said he can paint them if you don't want the polished aluminum.
Luckily I found a set for $1000 that had 10 miles on them. Here they are next to an original.
Neither is for sale, the fakes are going on the Spoodster and the Rudge belongs to a friend of mine for reference, a very cool Registry Brother. Loaning Rudges, isn't that what the Brotherhood is all about?

Wow, those are sweet. And what a deal, $1,000.00. i imagine that took you all of about 1 second to say yes! $4,200.00 is way to rich for my pocket, but man would I love a set. Enjoy.

Adam You were off a little on the price Heres what Chris quoted me about 6 months ago.
"Max, the Rudge wheels are $4400 polished and $4800 painted". "They are completely integrated into the wheel and not a pop in cap"." They have a threaded piece and a 2pc cap that threads onto the wheel". Chris
The term painted may be misleading, its a special process that looks more Anodized to me with a beautiful satin finish. Heres a pic. with just the center painted.
Adam .....$1000 for a $4400 dollar set, nice score !

After lots of looking, and with the help of this thread, I found the rims I was looking for: Chris Coddington's Model C wheels. Works of art!. The rims are from Spun Aluminum, and the centers are CNC from solid Aluminum. They can be ordered in polished (for much the same look as stock Chromies) Polished rims with brushed centers (the way I ordered mine), and in ceramic coated finishes. Amazing quality and detail, as it should be with Chris being the son of Boyd Coddington. He is very helpful to work with also. The rims come in 5 and 6 inch widths with an offset you ask for, to use various tire sizes or applications. The rims on my car are stock offset with 165/80/16 tires.
