356 Engine Tin for Type 4 conversion

#1 Post by Tim Woodcock »

Can anyone direct me to someone who sells either templates or manufactures engine sealing tin kits for a 1961 356B to type 4 conversion, it would make things go a lot faster, I would appreciate any help. I had called Raby Engineering and was told somewhat abruptly that they couldn't help direct me or sell me anything. I was told to call them by a few people including the Type 4 store.
Thanks
Tim

I have a 63 with 914 type 4 with Rabys shroud. Getting ready to drop engine to change spark plugs! Holes in shroud do NOT appear to line up with plugs. Of course, engine has Porsche heads so I have a real bastard! Holes WILL line up before engine goes back in the car.

Raby sold his "store" business and now only builds and develops engines. To purchase his products now go here:

I just noticed the type 4 store told you to call Jake. That is odd as they sell his DTM shrouds. Maybe the person you spoke with did not know anything about the fitment of the shrouds. I would try them again.
