Brake Conversions moved from Main Forum

#1 Post by David Pettengell »

So I have been doing lots of searching and it seems that most people use either airkewld or CSP for a brake conversion on their 356. I really like the Airkewld one because you can swap stud patterns but it seems some have had problems with fitting and it also seems a parking brake is a problem.

So in the VW scene (my background) it is quite common to use later Porsche brake components such as hubs, rotors and calipers and I was wondering if anyone had done that kind of conversion. The 968 calipers look a good fit.

My drums are adjusted and work fine for my current power but in the mid term I am putting a more powerful engine in its place so want to stopping power to go with it.

I was also wondering if anyone had used a 944 setup for the rear brakes with the parking brake included?

Any ideas?
