How much is it lowered?

#1 Post by Laurent Clerc »

Hello!

I would like to know how much this car has been lowered in front and in rear?

Is that feasible without modifying any parts, just by changing the setup?

Thank you in advance for your info

Lolo

Laurent,
This car looks like it was lowered almost the same amount as my speedster. Maybe a bit more. The rear requires no special work other than re-indexing the torsion bars, although you will have a bit of rear wheel camber. I found mine was not a big deal and easy to live with. The front does require some work. To get it this low you'll need to use a grinder to enlarge the adjusting holes that the front torsion bar adjusters sit in. It's not a difficult job but it can get a tad bit messy. Here's a write up I did on lowering the front (and the rear) of my car awhile ago. Maybe it'll help explain things.

ps: I love how this red car looks. It has a great stance.

Hello Greg,

Thank you for the link, excellent tutorial and very good-looking Speedster! So to the question by how much the front-end has been lowered, the answer is : grind the adjusting holes at least 8mm!

Greetings Laurent

Laurent,
I believe that if you open up the adjuster holes by 8mm, as I did, you'll have more than enough room to get the car as low as the one pictured.

Good luck!
