Original Fuchs on 356 A or B with drum brakes
Greetings, i am new to the 356 world and am sure this may be rehash for many. Please bear with me, I am trying to find out if it is possible to run original factory 15x5.5 fuchs on A or B model 356 with drum brakes. I've read that an original "deep dish" fuchs will allow for this without having to change to longer studs. If not, what is the best approach without having to go to disc brakes? Any and all responses greatly appreciated.

No. Fuchs from the 911 cars are a different bolt spacing pattern than the drum brake cars. The disc brake cars share the same bolt spacing. Not much of an option to run fuchs on a drum brake car. There are wheel adapters which will allow this but they usually push the wheel out about an inch and I don't think there is room for that.

And most of those adapters are junk.

And, in any case, Fuchs look funny on 356s.

Sorry, have to disagree! Fuchs don't look funny on a 356!

Both cars look lovely, even with the Fuchs.

Fuchs look wrong on a 356. You may feel they look "nice" but they still look wrong ... being wrong, after all. And don't bother disputing me, I'm the world's foremost expert on my opinion.

There are repro wheels that look like Fuchs that have the drum brake bolt pattern.

I think I trust the cast repros less than the crap adapters.
