What is an Outlaw?

#1 Post by Jacques Lefriant »

Hi All
As i have previously alluded to the "couldn't care less how my car left the factory" does not do the 356 cars justice that have been accorded the bestowing of great effort by the twisted minds that created them. I think this Forum can be the most interesting one. I beleive Outlaw or 356 Outlaw begs the question. for istance if i put a 356 hood handle on a Sherman tank does it qualify?

No, but if you put a .357 in a 356, it makes YOU an outlaw.

I prefer the 20mm gatling gun. i have a wrench that is 20mm in my tool kit. All kidding aside lets get back to the topic i prefer a descrption like "how they wished their car left the factory"

Outlaw = a name made up by Gary Emory a long time ago in the 1980's...on an early 356 coupe he highly modified by even another name calling it "Desperado". For fun he made up "the look" of a combination of Porsche Werkes racing ideas, parts, and pieces (including some vintage racing combinations)...to replicate an early Carrera GT-ish or Spyder-ish car. It's a just 4 fun made up American hot rod name...that's all. But since then, the name "Outlaw" stuck and is still around. Many have become quite valuable.

Hi Tyler
When i was a parts seller i beleived the demand for hubcaps was caused by dishonest VW owners until i quoted the price to a Porsche owner and heard him i will just steal someones elses. Sad but true.
