Very tidy driving!

Not much runoff there. Do they run a lot of club and pro races there? I would think that most racing organizations wouldn't like the safety situation.

Hey guys – thanks so much for the nice comments – Vic, thanks so much for providing me with the decambered spindles, rear sport bar, and GT TBD!

– Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA is an old timey track, which doesn’t have hardly any run-off, vs a newer track like Portland Raceway in Oregon, which has all of the modern safety stuff and big time race leagues – our local vintage race organization, SOVREN, has many races at Pacific Raceways each year, and the track is pretty safe, although the motorcyclists seem to have a fatality every year or so

I have linked a you tube video of some 1963 race film at Pacific Raceways, which is highly informative – I bet that some of our current SOVREN drivers were also driving at this race!

I learned to drive this track through the local Porsche Club (I drive the safe Porsche club line!) and I love driving all three of my early Porsche’s here – I highly encourage all 356 owners to check out driver’s skills and track days available through their local PCA chapter

I don’t keep lap times at the track, but I get a rough sense of them from my videos – FYI, the SOVREN guys in race 356’s are driving 20 seconds faster per lap, than what I can achieve! Now that’s freakin’ fast!

Thanks again, cheers!

Brad, verrrry smooth driving; you went to the apex like it was magnetic and carrying decent speed too. Didn't see any over rev on the tach either  Tip of the hat buddy!

Everyone who has not seen the clip, open a beer and spend @ 20 minutes watching some good track driving...of course, made better by a notchback.

Nice post buddy. Thanks.

Regards,
George Bryan

thanks again for the very nice comments!

here's a quick video of an Alfa Club track day at Portland International Raceway with an OFF i had in my 356, with the old Super engine:

this track has lots of room to have an off!

(also, check out my early 911 videos, listed on you tube!)

Brad,

Listening to your engine and gears, I see that second and third have a sweet wine. What cut are these gears to give it that sound?
