What is the Emory outlaw price at EC?

#1 Post by Dave Waddell »

Does anyone know what European Collectibles is asking for the orange '59 A outlaw they recently picked up the Emory? Their website says "inquire". I think Rod Emory was asking $85k for it.... I think...

Dave, one might interpret "inquire" as meaning "If you have to ask you can't afford it". ;-)

But I think you will have to ask them if you want to know...

The 356 at EC that I am lusting after is the '65 SC GT shown at http://www.europeancollectibles.com/inv ... _id=Po2490

It also says "inquire" for price. Which in this case definitely means "If you have to ask you can't afford it". That is an extremely rare 356.

Dave

In regards to your original question regarding asking price on the '59A Outlaw, I would recommend you just drop them an e-mail because they will respond promptly... it's pretty painless and then you will never have to wonder if you let a great deal get away from you.

Hi Randy,

Thanks for checking out that car. I don't know who would be offended if you gave out the price, but your comparison to a 2005 Carerra GT tells me that the EC price is around $325K for that SC GT. I am not surprised. ;-)

I won't bother to ask EC because I clearly cannot afford it!

Sorry to stay off topic but looking at the SC GT raised a couple of questions in my mind. The EC description suggests a roll bar though I cannot see one in any of the photos. Also I find it curious that, since the objective was to lighten the car, even such that the passenger seat was optional, why would it even have rear seats, apparently as standard equipment? Just seemed odd to me but not completely out of character with other things Porsche did in these earlier days.

What's with all the secrecy about pricing? Post the stupid price and if you know went to the trouble of inquiring what the price is post it. Don't be silly.

On the EC website you can click on the current cars and the prices are listed there.
