Hood Crest
I am in the process of removing the hood handle from the hood of my '64 C coupe. I'm looking for recommendations on a hood crest to mount to my new, smooth and clean looking hood. Any recommendations would be appreciated. THX George

Re: Hood Crest
Snap the stud off a stocker. Then attach it with double-sided tape. That's how I did mine.

Re: Hood Crest
I heated the pin on the back with a soldering iron and it fell off in a few seconds. Then I cut a thin border for the crest out of a 911 hood crest gasket - worked very well.
Glued the new two piece gasket in place with super glue.
Then super glued, inside the gasket edge directly on the back of the crest, three 3/8 dia by 1/32 thick rare earth magnets purchased from here:

Sounds involved but took less then one hour. Would post pic but car is at the trim shop.
Hopefully it will stay in place when I am flat out at 150mph on the mountain roads.

Re: Hood Crest
I think the Boxter crest is bigger than the 911. I bought this one and I think it looks real nice on our cars.
