Pre-A Speedster project moving along.

#1 Post by Jon Vargas »

My car is nearing completion- within the next month. Steering wheel restored by Koch's (highly recommended). Tony Euganeo is restoring the ignition switch. The wheels are done. The back bumper didn't fit so well, so is being redone. Basketcase Convertible D donor body made into the Pre-A Speedster the way I wanted- all black with A mechanicals.

Jon, The Speedster is looking Great, your about a month ahead of me getting mine on the road. I've got my brakes all done, and located a used 1600N engine for it. So now just to get it installed in the next 2 weeks and then if all goes well I should only have the elctrical system to go through. I'm shooting for the end of June or 1st part of July.
Yours is really coming along bet yoy are getting excited for the end and then nice weather to enjoy it in. Good luck on the rest of the car and I hope you get good weather to enjoy it. Have a Great 356 Spring.

Thanks Mike.

George- Glad you're getting your car done. It is a piece of 356 history with it's body color and interior modifications, which I assume you're keeping the way it is. It fits the outlaw credo to a T.

Mark- Every chance I get!

Thanks again guys, Jon.

Jon, Yes every thing will stay as it was done in 1966, I may do a repaint on her this next winter if this paint doesn't buff out to my liking. It will stay the same color though. I'm hoping to have it all done so I can go to Gary Emory's Campout week-end in July. The weather is getting warm enough so the tops are coming down so I've got to get her done and on the road soon. Take Care and good luck with your car.

All I can say is "BAD ASS" and that goes for both Jon and George.
