Yep, that's the one. John and I both drove up our rigs over from Colorado to check things out. Sure was a good time, next year I want to stay for a few days.

Re: Pre A restoration-KCW style
I love it, but I think the engine shroud needs more big rivets in it.
Need to remember to watch (record) Saturday afternoon.

Rusty,
Thanks for sharing John's project. Can you add something about the wheels shown in the early photos, the wide bolt pattern with polished rims and gray centers, or did I miss its particulars in the text somewhere. His selection of a final color is appreciated, as I've concluded the same color will dress my project as well. Amazing how that color changes with its lighting. I see that its running disc and C wheels for its auction. I expect him to do well and someone to be very pleased with their acquisition. If I had the ware with all to go straight to a finished product, this would be the kind of ticket I'd wish to punch.

The wheels are from Mooneyes and I believe the choice of color is mag grey.

Glen, if you were asking about the car color it is VW Dove Blue, a very common commercial color used on early Buses. As well as Johns favorite color!!

Re: Pre A restoration-KCW style
It was in Tucson at Hi-Speed Customs where it received a 5 speed transmission, FAT Type 4 engine and some modifications. I believe it went to Mecum in this configuration. Not sure where it wound up after that. Anthony Ribeau at High Speed could probably tell you. Check out Hi-Speed's faux aged paint in the website gallery. Pretty cool for instant patina...
