Mike,
I'm trying to keep everything period correct. The seats are Nurburgring seats from GTS Classics.
From their website:
"This is the classic sport bucket seat used in many sports cars and sports sedans in the 60's and early 70's. This style was also the racer's and rallye driver's choice at the Nurburgring...."
During my research, I was able to find several photos that confirm the style was used "back in the day."

This coupe is owned by my old pal Fred Veitch from Colorado Springs. A long build just finished last summer, probably at insane cost (Fred likes Porsche things done right; he owned one of the first 911 Turbos in the U.S., a Euro model somehow imported in 1975). It's got a VW Type I engine, 2,110-cc, turbocharged, fuel-injected, making around 200 hp on the dyno. The rear firewall was subtly moved forward, and the car is full of gorgeously-created details (exhaust exit through rear body, titanium shifter, wiper mechanism, titanium nerf bars, special castings, external oil filler, on and on). The wheels are evidently 928 spare wheels. I understand a magazine article is in the works, probably Excellence.
