Repainting rims

#1 Post by Scott Mires »

Is there a color spec for the silver paint of my 1963 356S rims?
I'm taking them to get cleaned and powder coated...
thx Scott

Rattle can aluminum 1207 if memory serves. Be very careful with powder coating as if not done well the paint does not get down in the crevice of the rim to center very well.
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Thanks for your reply David.
I ended up taking it to Kel Coatings here in San Diego, they work with Wayne Baker and his 356 restoration shop.
They have the silver that Wayne specs, so I'm just following his lead.
