T6 washer system

#1 Post by Chatard Romain »

Good morning and excuse me for my poor english but I'm french.

Do you have a plan or a picture of the washer system from the foot pump to the water reservoir in order to see the link between all elements ?

The electric was an option or was it mounted at the factory ?

Regards, Romain

More people will read this if you post this question in the main forum, "356 Talk Main Discussion". Also, you may come across several French speakers on this site. Good luck!

Also, if you have a Stoddard catalogue or go to their website, I believe there is a diagram. The electric pump was a factory option.

There are different washer system diagrams depending upon your 356 model. Let us know which car you have.

The main difference between the T-6 B and C systems is the reservoir cap and bottle. On C cars, the tube enters the reservoir through the cap. On the T-6 B cars, the cap is plain and the tube enters the body of the reservoir.

John Pierce's diagrams from the parts books show the two caps. The difference in the bottles is not visible.

The tube enters the bottle only on '62 cars. Another oddity of the '62. '63 on it enters through the cap.

Thanks for that info, Phil. That would make the tube in the bottle continuing with the early B's. My car, build date May 30, 1963 has the tube through the cap.

For the most part the line will be held in place by the connections to the washer nozzles. The line goes through the front firewall with a grommet just behind the washer reservoir in the front trunk.
