Markings on T-6 B Shift Tunnel Rubber Mats

#1 Post by Edwin Ek »

How can one distinguish an original from reproductions? These are black, pebbled rubber.

I have seen one with a part number stamped in the rubber on the side. Did or do any reproductions have that?

Ed: I just checked my repro tunnel mat. No numbers. It is stamped International Merchantile.

Hi...from my '63. Not sure what that symbol and letters mean though.

Actually, Peter's mat is a repro. The original supplier to Porsche was FISCO. The logo has been carefully altered to remove the "F" and "O," creating the non-existent supplier "ISC."

Here is a photo of an original, dried-out 356C tunnel mat for comparison.

Damn...thanks for the education! Got the mat 13 years ago during the restoration in PA. Never gave it a second look.

The marking you see as iSc actually stands for Stoddard Imported Cars.
