Talbot-Spiegal lks??? Fender or Door?

The car is a 1964 sunroof coupe, in European trim, picked up in Germany. The Kartex calls out Talbot-Spiegel lks. Is this the standard Talbot style mirror?
Was this mirror mounted to the door or on the fender? I was under the impression that Talbot's were mounted to the fender.
Does anyone have pictures of a factory talbot mirror installation?

That phrase refers to a Talbot Mirror left (links).
I have seen them on the Fender but most of them, including the one I had on my '64 was on the door...

I believe Charlie White's site shows the Talbot Berlin mirror as a factory option mounted on the door.

When they are mounted on the door, do they work? Can you see anything behind you?

On my 64 C Coupe, yes and yes (on the left side). I came up with another solution for seeing the right side, especially the blind spot, without a second mirror mounted on the right fender.

On my '63 B coupe the Talbot Berin mirror works well. For clarification, this mirror resembles the Aero or Ponto Stabil mirror. On the passenger side, it would need to be positioned slightly more to the rear for functionality.

Charlie's website shows it, but I cannot tell if it is the Talbot Berlina model in the picture.
Would it be a Berlina on a 64? Or just the standard Talbot?

What do you mean it resembles the Aero or Ponti Stabil? These mirrors look nothing like the Talbot?

my vote would be door mounted. If the mirror had been mounted on the fender it usually states that on the Kardex (Aussenspiegel auf Kotflügel montiert). You could look under the fender and see/ feel if there are holes filled.

I believe the standard mirror for a C was the durant. the Talbot has a much bigger housing, a bullet shape.

The Talbot Berlin has the oval mirror head and stalk similar to the Aero and Ponto Stabil. Check Charlie's site.

The other Talbot mirror is what I would call a racing style with round mirror.

I also believe the correct mirror for late B's and C's was the Durant.

odd. i always thought my (ex) C had a talbot berlin installed. The housing actually says Talbot berlin. But that could just be the location where they were manufactured.

Herewith photos of the original Talbot Berlin left door mirror and its inside door mounting access of my unrestored '65C cab.
Rear and left side mirror views are excellent once one gets accustomed to its usage.

Not all Talbot Berlin mirrors were the bullet style. The 1963 accessory book shows this style

That's the one I was referring to, Peter. I think Jules might be right about the Talbot Berlin in that is not a model designation but rather location.
