T 6 356B cabriolet day/night mirrors
The new larger, day-night mirror was first fitted on T 6 356B cabriolets. Rather than being mounted to the tension rod, they were screwed to the windshield frame below the center top mount hook. The earliest one I know of is 156768 (5/18/62). Any earlier ones? Later mirrors still on tension rods? I need photos of these too. Offline, I'm at: 356drb@indy.net

Brett,
If I am not mistaken, that mirror was available as an accessory and was not standard or an option. The base was different from the later C base that also mounted at the windshield frame and the mirror was the one used on 300SL's and not like the others used on 356's. I say this assuming you are looking for items that were stock or optional only.

If it is a period accessory and not a factory item, I am still interested in definitive information, so that it can be differentiated from the later real thing. I assume that they were not mounted to the tension rod, because they were too heavy. Still need photos -- period advertising is good too!

Brett, I have one that's been floating around in my parts bin for years, but not mounted, although the bracket might be with it. It's out at my country house but in a week or so I can send a photo if that is useful to you. Advise, Richard

I'm still in no hurry for photos. By summer, not so much.

Hi Brett
I have an original, and they are listed in the Porsche produced accessory booklet for 62 or 63.
Do you still need pics?
