356A Reuter chassie badge - font for vin #

Does anyone know what font was used to inscribe the chassis [vin] number on original 356A Speedster [1957]?
Mine was missing the badge from the driver's side, door column.
I now have a blank replica from Stoddard, but don't know the correct font to have it stamped or inscribed.
If anyone knows, please advise. Thanks Patrick

Hi Patrick
Erick is correct you can buy metric sized number and letter sets from Germany (they have them on Ebay.de).
But they are a modern interpretation of the typeface (DIN Schriften) the font that was used in Germany throughout the war years.
Original stamps or (Stemple's in German) were made from tool steel and hand finished so there are some slight differences from set to set.
So modern stamps will do unless you are looking for something more authentic.
I have collected several sets of original wartime stamp sets over the years in various sizes and would be happy to stamp your plates for you the only drawback is that I am in the United Kingdom so it would take a few weeks to get them shipped to me and back to you.
