Colour identification from Vin Number anyone?

#1 Post by Alexander George »

Hello,
So now im totally confused.
My Vin Number is 53232
When i bought the 55 the previous owner had said that the original colour was Turkish red.
After stripping the car i found some original paint here and there and when i compared the colours... Turkish red with my red it is totally different.
The colour i compared it, was found under the handbrake clamp.
Hope someone can help me find the correct colour
Thanks

An Italian Guy told me that it looks like signal red too.
Probably best thing would be to get the birth certificate but it takes long to come.
Maybe someone has access to Kardex
and so i can confirm the colour before.
Thanks

My vote would be on cardinal red

a special order color.

Alex, your car was ordered in a custom color. It's not in any of the color charts. Your best bet would be to match what you found, and I highly doubt there is a person on this planet that will be able to tell you were off by a share or 2 since it's not a porsche color. you got really lucky!

I can help you get the Kardex, however it is possible that it would have little paint or interior information.
You would be far better off getting the Reutter Certificate of Production. This would have very detailed paint & interior information.
