Raised rectangular area on 1959 356A Lower Tail Panels Info

I'm sorry, I really can't help myself. A raised rectangular area in the lower central area of the tail panel appeared in 1959 where the back-up light unit would appear on the 356B/C models. Past research put it between coupes 106732 and 107664. Anybody have further information? Did this happen on Conv Ds?

Cab data point...152388 (7/30/59) has the raised area. Original AFAIK.

I had a 57 speedster that got rearended around 69 or 70. Only new clip available at time had raised center
for B backup light which was installed on car.

Understood -- In 1974, I bought out the inventory of a dealer that had gone under in Indianapolis in 1964. There were two NOS 356A tails with the blank -- affected me! Then I stupidly put the NOS left door with the mirror hole on my '55 coupe and put the mirror on the door...

Mine is just below a few numbers below 107664. Has the factory installed original rear panel and does not have the raised rectangular area.
